Introducing, Indelible:  African American Prints from the Hallmark Art Collection

This exhibition offers a cross-section of the diverse perspectives to be found in the work of contemporary African American artists.  Addressing a wide array of issues in a variely of pictorial styles, these artists share a common concern for history, often tapping into our collective unconscious to powerful effect.  The medium of printmaking is also a connecting thread due in great part to the efforts of master printer Robert Blackburn.  He revitalized the medium for postwar artists and helped many here create works at his celebrated Printhamking Workshop in New York.  Allowing for the dissemination of multiple images, the print medium has proven especially relevant to artists wishing to convey timely social messages to a broad public.  These works of art will be on display through the month of August.

We are continuing to offer Hallmark - A Century of Caring at the discounted price of $20.  With your purchase, you will recieve a free copy of J.C. Hall's memoir, When you Care Enough, (while supplies last).
